Insects
The information presented here about insects, mites and natural enemies was developed from the publication A Pocket Guide to IPM Scouting in Highbush Blueberries by Annemiek Schilder, Rufus Isaacs, Eric Hanson and Bill Cline. This is a pocket-sized guide for reference in blueberry fields and can be purchased from MSU Extension at shop.msu.edu (Publication E-2928).

Natural enemies
Natural enemies are beneficial organisms that can enhance pest control, often providing suppression of many indirect pests, such as mites and leafrollers. The best ways to conserve beneficial insects are to use caution when selecting pesticides and time applications, and to restrict use of predator-toxic products, particularly later in the season.
