Starting with Fertilizer Basics

Crops need nutrients, and fertilizers are needed when soil nutrient levels are deficient. But what do I really need? And what’s the ‘payback’ for the money I spend? Which type of fertilizer should I use, and how much? When and how to apply? MSU Extension will address these and other questions.
