News & Updates
Do you want to think about the future of food sovereignty in Detroit?
Recently, several technology pilots have aimed to help create a more sustainable local food system in Detroit. These include robots to collect food waste in Corktown and proposals for a mobile grocery store that uses electric vehicles to bring local farm produce to your neighborhood. A team at the University of Michigan’s School of Information is hosting paid focus groups with farmers and other stakeholders in Detroit's food sovereignty movement to understand possible harmful impacts these technologies could have on the urban agriculture community and what to do about it.
If you are interested in participating in a 2-3 hour workshop, during July or August, hosted in Detroit (with the possibility of joining online), please email apricity@umich.edu. Participants will be compensated fairly for their time.
