About

The Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) is a network of partners supporting transitioning and organic producers with mentorship, technical assistance and wrap-around support.

Components of TOPP

Mentorship Program

Farmers transitioning to organic are paired with experienced organic farmers in a paid mentorship program. Learn more and apply to be a mentor or mentee!

Educational Field Days, Webinars and Workshops

Learn from diverse farmers about their experiences with organic certification at webinars, workshops and field days at farms across Michigan, and help us plan TOPP events around your needs and interests by participating in the annual farmer and community input session.

Technical Assistance

Receive one-on-one support and answers to your questions about transitioning to organic farming. For assistance, contact one of our Michigan TOPP team members.

Community Building

TOPP Network Partners will host events for farmers across the state to learn about organic transition and opportunities to get involved with TOPP.

Workforce Training and Development

In addition to training farmers, TOPP provides training and professional development opportunities across the food supply chain, plus service providers such as Extension staff, inspectors, and agricultural support agencies.

Michigan TOPP maintains an updated list of jobs and opportunities on this website and via email. To sign-up for TOPP Jobs & Opportunities emails:
