As the Fall semester wraps up, the MSU Department of Entomology is buzzing with exciting achievements and updates to share:
Celebrating Excellence:

- Dr. Deb McCullough received the National Award for Excellence in Integrated Pest Management.
- MSU students and faculty earned numerous accolades at the Entomological Society of America Annual Meeting.
Groundbreaking Research:

- Dr. Julianna Wilson is developing yeast-based biopesticides to combat the invasive spotted-wing drosophila.
- MSU alumnus Dr. Scott Shaw co-discovered the first parasitoid wasp species that parasitizes adult flies.
- Global Outreach:
- Sarah Smith led workshops in Southeast Asia on bark and ambrosia beetles, training international participants.
Welcoming New Faces:

- Dr. Andrea Glassmire will join MSU as an Assistant Professor in January 2025.
- Sheila Babbitt has joined the department as the Communications Manager, supporting key programs.
Exciting Opportunities:
