Homemade Baby Food - Pear Puree

Ingredients
- 1 pear
- 1-2 tsp. breastmilk or formula or water (optional)
Instructions
- Wash your hands using soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
- Clean and sanitize all food preparation surfaces, including equipment like your knife and cutting board.
- Fill a saucepan with 1-2 inches of water and place steamer basket inside. Cover the lid and bring to a boil.
- Select a firm pear that is free from bruises or blemishes.
- Rinse the pear under clean, cool water and scrub the skin with your hands or a vegetable brush.
- Peel, core, and chop the pear into smaller pieces.
- Place the pears in the steam basket and steam until fork tender, about 15 minutes.
- Once soft, place the pear pieces into a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.
- Optional, add liquid (water, breastmilk or formula), starting with one teaspoon until desired consistency is reached.
- Allow it to cool before serving to baby. Discard uneaten puree within two hours.
*Do not add seasonings to puree.
