Diversity

Michigan State University and the RDSTP are committed to promoting the inclusion and success of individuals from groups underrepresented in the sciences. MSU programs and activities are not restricted based on age, color, gender, gender identity, disability status, height, marital status, national origin, political persuasion, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, weight or other protected personal identity. All trainees entering the program are welcome to participate in all events, activities and groups.

Through the MSU Women's Student Services students can participate in a range of programming, advocacy, social events, leadership conferences and workshops.

The Women’s Initiative for Leadership hosts events on campus to promote the advancement of women-identified leaders through leadership development, entrepreneurship and community service. The group is made up of student leaders from all different backgrounds and majors who come together to empower women to achieve their greatest leadership potential.

The Successful Black Women (SBW) is a registered student organization at Michigan State University that is committed to its mission to assist in the overall academic success of SBW, which includes the retention and graduation rates for both undergraduate and graduate female students at MSU.

Through the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD), persons with disabilities can request accommodations in courses, programs and activities, be connected to resources and assistive technology, be alerted to opportunities, and become part of the community of persons with disabilities. The RCPD can work with the Institutional Space Planning and Management, administrative units and the ADA Coordinator to implement actions to address accommodations where needed.
