PFAS Challenges and Solutions in the Great Lakes Basin: A Model for Freshwater Ecosystems

The 2024 Center for PFAS Research 3rd Annual Symposium will focus on the theme of PFAS Challenges and Solutions in the Great Lakes Basin: A Model for Freshwater Ecosystems. The symposium will allow participants to exchange scientific information and discoveries, remediation, policy, and emerging issues of PFAS. Participants will have the opportunity to learn new skills and technologies that may influence the scientific direction and management strategies for PFAS contamination and solutions. Expected attendance includes university faculty and researchers, public and private industry professionals, regulators, scientists, and students.

The 3rd annual symposium will take place October 6-9, 2024, at the Lansing Center. A group room block has been created at the adjacent DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing, 111 North Grand Ave., Lansing, MI 48933.

A welcome reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 6th. Opening remarks for the symposium and a plenary speaker and panel will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 7th.

Abstracts

Abstracts are being accepted for posters and oral presentations. Posters will be presented during a poster reception on Monday, October 7th. Accepted oral presentations will be scheduled as concurrent sessions on Tuesday, October 8th.

Oral presentations should focus on one of three topics: Grand Challenges and New Technologies for PFAS Research in Aquatic Ecosystems, Community, or Miscellaneous. Concurrent sessions will be 15 minutes each, followed by 5 minutes for questions. 

All abstracts are due Sunday, August 18th at 11:59 p.m. Notification will be sent to submitters in early September.

Early Registration (Available until July 28th): $325

Regular Registration (Begins July 29th): $400

Early Student Registration (Available until July 28th): $150

Student Registration (Begins July 29th): $200

Cancellation Policy

All registration cancellations prior to July 29th will be fully refunded. Cancellations between July 29th and September 1st will be refunded less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations received on or after September 2nd will not be refunded.
