Mavra Javed, Ph.D.
Mavra Javed began her role as a Research Associate with Dr. Leslie Bourquin in January 2024, following her previous experience as a Visiting Scholar during her Ph.D. studies under Dr. Bourquin's supervision. She holds a Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition, awarded in 2024, and an M.Phil. in the same field from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan, obtained in 2020. Mavra's current research focuses on studying black garlic extract's effects on colorectal cancer cells. Her Ph.D. dissertation explored the benefits of fermented garlic in combating obesity, alcohol-induced liver injury, and colorectal cancer. Mavra Javed is dedicated to advancing knowledge in food science and nutrition, aiming to make meaningful contributions to health research.
