Dissertation Title/Research Focus

Malus coronaria (Sweet Crabapple) is a crop wild relative native to Michigan. The research goal is to send germplasm to the USDA, and eventually try to introgress its traits into commercial apple. Additionally, she is working to see if it is in decline in the state due to hybridization or anthropogenic changes in the environment.
