Background:

I am jointly appointed at Michigan State University between James Madison College, a liberal arts, public policy, residential college for undergraduate students and the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. My research interests center around three broad themes: 1) the conservation of biodiversity, 2) land and water interactions, and 3) global change science, particularly the effects of globalization on remote communities in ecologically rich regions of the world.
