Colin Assenmacher

Biography:
Colin graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2021 with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While at GVSU, he led a summer research project conducting rapid bioassessments and stream metabolism estimates throughout the mainstream of the Grand River. Following graduation, he took a gap year and served as a seasonal technician at the Annis Water Resources Institute, working on the Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program. At MSU, Colin will be studying Red Swamp Crayfish and their impact as an invasive species here in Michigan. He joins an ongoing and collaborative research project with the DNR as well as other colleagues at MSU.
