Carly Claucherty
Biography
Hi there! I am a second-year graduate student in the Patterson Lab and my research broadly focuses on genome plasticity of the weedy species kochia and the influence of the epigenome in response to sublethal doses of glyphosate. I am also an NRT-IMPACTS Fellow, an NSF-funded program for training in plant and computational sciences. I graduated from the Honors College at MSU with a B.S. in Crop and Soil Sciences and a minor in Horticulture in May 2020. Outside of the lab, I serve as the Director of Event Planning for the MSU Council of Graduate Students and am the Social Chair for ACRS, the graduate student organization for CSS. This semester I am starting an internship with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, working in the Pesticide and Plant Pest Management Division on weed risk assessments. I am a cat mom to Minnie and Molly, enjoy baking, podcasts, MSU hockey games, thrifting and exploring Michigan in my free time!
