Aidan McArdle
Bio:
Aidan is a student from Brewster New York, that came to Michigan State with the intent of being a mechanical engineer. However, he switched into packaging after the opportunities it provided, and the excellent job placement rate. He eventually graduated from MSU with honors with an undergraduate degree in Packaging Science in 2022. He then began working on multiple projects the ensuing semesters and now plans to graduate in December of 2023. After graduation, Aidan plans to continue working in the packaging field for industry.
The project Aidan is working on involved the derivation and qualification of a novel coupling agent extracted from an agricultural waste product of defatted soymeal. The extraction process involves the removal and isolation of the desired compound from the soymeal without disrupting the physcial or nutritional integrity of the meal. The compound will then be established and tested to prove its potential for use for polymeric packaging applications.
