Abbey Miller
Abbey Miller is director of the Michigan 4-H Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports the mission and vision of Michigan State University (MSU) Extension 4-H Youth Development statewide. In this role, she oversees the organization’s operations and facilitates its strategic development under the direction and guidance of the Michigan 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees and in collaboration with MSU Extension and University Advancement.
Miller has more than two decades of service to the Michigan 4-H Foundation. In 2001, she was hired as a graphic designer and later became the organization’s communications manager. Soon after, she added annual giving to responsibilities. In 2017, Miller’s role expanded to include donor communications for MSU Extension and in 2019, she added donor and alumni communications for the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR). Miller worked closely with CANR Advancement and University Advancement staff, supporting major gift storytelling and donor and alumni event communications. She became director of the Michigan 4-H Foundation June 19, 2023.
Miller has bachelors’ degrees in animal science and in agriculture and natural resources communications from MSU. She has also attended The Fundraising School at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, completing courses in Developing Annual Sustainability, Financial Analysis for Nonprofit Leaders and Fundraising Campaigns: From Capital to Comprehensive.
