How to Update Your Version of Zoom

Zoom will often release new features and enhancements through periodic updates. These updates typically need to be done manually. You can learn about the latest updates by reading the Zoom Release Notes and select the choice for either Windows or Mac.

To update your version of Zoom (you will need to do this for each computer or device that you use to access Zoom) for a Windows application follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Zoom application by either selecting the icon on your desktop or opening it through your start menu

  2. Select the Sign In button.

  3. Select Sign In with SSO. This will allow you to sign in through your Michigan State University NetID.

  4. Enter msu as your company domain.

  5. Sign in with your MSU NetID and password.

  6. To the right of your name click on the down arrow and select the Check for Updates option.

  7. If there is a new version of Zoom available there will be a notification towards the top of the window.

  8. You will be prompted to update by selecting the Update Now link. Once the update is complete you will be ready to start using Zoom.
