Emily Esch Attends North American Forest Communicators Network Inaugural Workshop
The three-day event in Zapopan, Mexico featured presentations and conversation on best practices in forest and climate communication.
The inaugural workshop of the North American Forest Communicators Network (NA-FCN) marked a historic moment in January 2024, hosted at Mexico’s Comisión Nacional Forestal in Zapopan, Jalisco. Dedicated to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among communication professionals passionate about forests, NA-FCN saw the participation of FCCP's Digital Media and Education Specialist, Emily Esch, alongside approximately 60 other communicators.
The workshop featured sessions introducing Forest Communicator Networks, delving into strategic communication and information sharing on North American forest issues. Participants explored the effective use of technology and various communication tools and engaged in discussions on successful campaigns and global initiatives.
The event concluded with a captivating field trip to a local forest, where attendees, including Emily Esch, immersed themselves in a tour of a medicinal garden, coffee plantation, and recreational area, further emphasizing the diverse benefits and uses of forests. The NA-FCN workshop successfully blended theoretical insights with practical experiences, leaving participants enriched and enthusiastic as the network grows and develops.
