Dr. Jiyoon Yi's research program focuses on developing AI-driven solutions to advance sustainable food systems. Her team, comprising biosystems engineers and data scientists, is currently working on: 1) predictive modeling of soil health and pathogen dynamics via microbial interactions and machine learning-based imputation; 2) rapid pathogen detection through hyperspectral microscopy and domain adaptation across imaging modalities; and 3) generating synthetic microbial data by capturing physiological signals amidst environmental noise and stress responses in diverse food and agricultural environments.
