Our mission is to strengthen communities disproportionately affected by climate challenges through rigorous data-driven research focused on natural and built environments. We develop adaptation strategies to mitigate risks, protect lives, and safeguard assets, empowering those most vulnerable to withstand and recover from extreme climate events.

Our research is dedicated to assessing multi-scale climate risks that affect environmental and socioeconomic assets and optimizing both structural and non-structural climate adaptation practices. We examine the interactions between these practices and the characteristics of climate hazards, whether stationary or non-stationary. By integrating diverse data sources and employing advanced geospatial analytics, we develop comprehensive models and predictive tools essential for sustainable development and disaster preparedness.

The vision of the CReS Lab is to lead in transforming community responses to climate risks, aiming for a significant academic and practical impact. Our goals include influencing policy, developing best practices for climate resilience, and forging strong partnerships to promote our methodologies. These efforts are dedicated to constructing a robust resilience framework that communities can adopt at multiple scales, ensuring they are equipped to make informed decisions and thrive amidst escalating climate changes.
