LEARN MOREUpon learning of MSU Distinguished Professor Jim Pestka’s research on lupus, Robert Deibel, Ph.D., and his wife of 50 years – Carol – wanted to invest. Their endowment allows Dr. Pestka to employ nine students in his laboratory at MSU. One of those students – fourth-year graduate student Kate Wieranga – earned a research fellowship from the Lupus Foundation of America. Her work focuses on how DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid, can be used to combat lupus and other immune diseases.
