SPDC OUTSTANDING INSTRUCTOR AWARD

The Outstanding Instructor award is to recognize a teaching faculty member that excels in the classroom and/or studio and laboratory, such as lecturing in an engaging and participatory way, finding real-world projects for students, or inspiring students in creating excellent work.

SPDC OUTSTANDING FACULTY MENTOR AWARD

The Outstanding Mentor award is to recognize a faculty member, advisor, or SPDC-associated personnel who excels beyond the classroom, such as providing career advice, serving on committees, and exhibiting dedication to the betterment of the school.

SPDC OUTSTANDING STUDENT LEADER AWARD

The Outstanding Student Leader award is designed to recognize a full-time student who demonstrated sustained records of helping people, leadership in mentoring others, volunteering efforts in helping the school and/or leadership in holding a student group together during challenging times.

2023: Emily Bojo, undergraduate; Angel Cruz, undergraduate

2024: Kaustubh Thakare, graduate, Kendyll Borchert, undergraduate

SPDC SPECIAL AWARDS

SPDC Special Awards are granted on a per-case basis, starting with the nomination of an individual by students, faculty and/or staff. Special Awards are meant to recognize excellence in efforts, duties and performance outside the description of other school awards.

PROGRAM AWARDS

SYAL-JAGTAP AWARDS FOR STUDENTS & FACULTY (CM)

These awards are the result of the generous sponsorship of Mr. Pankaj Jagtap, 1998 MSCM graduate. Mr. Jagtap honors his former professor, Dr. Matt Syal, in the title of the award. Each award includes a certificate, a cash prize of $2,000 for each student award and $3,000 for the educator award, and a medal that can be worn at the graduation ceremonies. A running plaque with winners’ names is displayed in the SPDC office.
