A timber sale contract is the most important document involved in conducting a timber sale. A well-prepared contract will help avoid misunderstandings and conflict by all parties. Understanding the Sample Timber Sale Contract contains a sample contract, not meant to be exhaustive or necessarily applicable to every situation. The sample contract is intended only to provide educational information on the general nature of the language that may be included in some timber sale contracts. The bulletin also gives a definition of what is meant by the term reasonable as well as a description of basic harvest types.
