Promotion

Who: Conservation District, FSA, NRCS, & Partners

What: Meetings, Fliers, Brochures, Mailings, & Farm Visits.

Eligibility

Who: FSA

What: establishes, farm records, determines eligibility, initiates offer.

Site Visit

Who: NRCS or TSP

What: Based on site visit, resource concern is identified & implementation of CP is feasible & needed. Existing cover is addressing the purpose of CP.

Participant Notification

Who: FSA

What: Notice to Producer of accepted/ rejected/ modified offer.

File, Compiled, & Sign

Who: Participant & FSA

What: Participant accepts offer & signs CRP-1/CRP-2C.

Conservation Planning Begins

Who: NRCS or TSP

What: Conservation Plan, supporting documents: 1155s, Maps, CPA-52, Job Sheets, etc.

Conservation Plan Review

Who: NRCS

What: Conservation Plan & 1155 (estimated cost share) ready for review.

File, Compile, & Sign

Who: NRCS, FSA, and TSP

What: Producer signs Conservation Plan, & 1155. Assistance from CD for SIGMA.

Contract Approval

Who: FSA & MDARD

What: Contract approval. Participant may begin practice implementation, FSA issues SIP and MDARD issues enrollment/ re-enrollment bonus.

Practice Installation

Who: Participant

What: Submits receipts for C/S reimbursement & practice installation certification.

Michigan CREP Incentives, Payments, &  Practices

Federal Incentives and Payments

  • Soil Rental Rate (SRR) Payment base on 3 predominate soils
  • 40% SRR Incentive
  • Climate Smart Incentive – added to SRR
    • Grasses & Legumes = 5% (CP1)
    • Grass = 3% (CP2 & CP21)
    • Woody Biomass = 10% (CP5A & CP22)
    • Wetland (aquatic or emergent) = 3% (CP23 & CP23A)
  • 50% cost-share for practice installation 1/
  • Signing Incentive Payment (SIP) based on 32.5% of first full year annual rental payment – applicable to new enrolled acres only 1/
  • Practice Incentive Payment (PIP) 10% 1/
  • 50% Cost-Share for Management Activities applicable only to CP22

State Incentives and Payments

  • 50% cost-share for practice installation 1/
  • New Enrollment Bonus
    • Enrollment Bonus $150 p/ac CP5A, CP21, CP22, CP23/23A, & CP26
    • Water Quality Incentive Payment – appliable to land located in the Western Lake Erie Basin Watershed only 1/

  • Re-Enrollment Bonus
    • Re-enrollment Bonus
      • $50 p/ac CP1 & CP2
