A discussion of the sensitivities of Gala fruit to storage disorders and horticultural tools to control these disorders is provided. PRGs to control ethylene production and action are essential to long-term Gala storage. Storage at 3 °C (38 °F) will provide some protection to internal browning. 0.5% O2 is recommended for long-term storage under DCA and 2% O2 with 1% CO2 is recommended for standard CA.
