This guide gives examples of many types of assistive technologies that enable beekeepers with medical impairments to manage hives and sell honey. There are many opportunities for sideline apiaries with 20 to 100 beehives to produce honey and provide pollination services to local farms. These hives may be spaced over several miles at various farmers’ fields. Revenue comes from renting out pollination hives and selling honey products at on-farm stores, community farmers markets, local retail outlets, or online.
