Steve Whittington
Steve is a Field Crops Educator based out of the Montcalm County Extension Office located in Stanton, MI. His work spans multiple counties in the west-central region of Michigan and covers a diverse variety of commodities in his work including corn, soybean, wheat, potatoes, dry beans, vegetables, and forages. He supports the field crop production industry by working with producers, industry partners, key stakeholders, and commodity groups to deliver research-based educational programming to the industry. He also conducts research and agronomic work in various commodity groups to enhance crop production and food security through statewide education programs.
Prior to joining MSU Extension, Steve served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman, managed a production farm in West Michigan, and is the former military veteran program instructor for Michigan State University Extension.
He leads and coordinates the Field Crops Virtual Breakfast Series as well as the annual Potato Field Day.
