Kristofer Chan
Kris is a researcher and teaching fellow based in the Department of Geography at King’s College London. He specialised in satellite remote sensing research, in particular of freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems, and currently teaches the Environmental GIS MSc module at King’s. He has recently completed a PhD investigating the environmental impact of hydroelectric dams in Southeast Asia. Utilising Landsat remote sensing in combination with Local Ecological Knowledge gleaned from primary interviews, Kris’ work seeks to promote environmental knowledge in understudied areas. Having worked as an environmental consultant and completed an environmental MSc, Kris has a strong background in ecology.
