4-H Program Quality & Evaluation

Kathy Fischer is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H supervising and staff development educator. Kathy’s primary office is in Calhoun County.

In this role, Kathy serves as a supervisor for 4-H staff in District 13, which includes Branch, Berrien, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph counties.

In addition, Kathy focuses on 4-H program quality and evaluation in her statewide role and also serves on the volunteer excellence and support team.

Kathy can also provide information about the following topic areas:

  • Outdoor and Environmental Education
  • Science programming
  • Youth Development

She has been with MSU Extension since 2014. Before starting in her current role in April 2023, Kathy was the 4-H program coordinator for Calhoun County. Prior to her work with MSU Extension, Kathy worked with education programs at Kid’s N Stuff Children’s Museum and Binder Park Zoo.

 

Kathy has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Ecology with an Emphasis in Interpretation of Natural Resources from Iowa State University and a Master of Arts in Youth Development from Michigan State University.
