Heidi DeVooght
Heidi is a supervising and staff development educator at MSU Extension, serving six mid-Michigan counties: Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Ionia, Gratiot and Montcalm. With a background in education and community programming, she is particularly passionate about improving access to physical activity for traditionally marginalized Michigan residents.
Prior to joining Extension, Heidi worked in various educational settings, including as an elementary school teacher, Spanish teacher, program director of a Spanish immersion school, mentor teacher and community outreach coordinator. Her work has consistently focused on providing culturally relevant lessons while improving access to healthy foods and physical activity for students and their families.
Heidi holds a B.A. in International Studies from Michigan State University and an M.Ed. from Northwestern University. Fluent in Spanish, she strives to use her language skills and cultural knowledge to connect with communities and promote inclusivity in her programs.
