Academic Background
I have been working as an undergraduate research assistant since my freshman year of undergrad. During this time, I have researched long-term algae cultivation using flue gas from the T. B. Simon power plant as a carbon source. I pursued this project further as a participant of the 2019 Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (EnSURE) program at Michigan State, engaging in metagenomic analysis of the algae culture. I have also been involved with wastewater treatment research, including an internship with the Department of the Army. Other major projects I have been a part of include anaerobic digestion with biochar and biooil as a co-substrate and absorption/desorption of carbon dioxide using mixed amino acid solutions.
