Fernando Brito
Fernando Brito, MSc, MBA, is Global Head, Regulatory at Nestlé Health Science. Fernando has over 20 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, having worked for companies such as Nestlé, Novartis, Kraft Foods, and Nabisco. Fernando started his regulatory career in Brazil but soon gained exposure to other countries in Latin America, Europe, United States as well as to Codex Alimentarius. Throughout his years of experience Fernando has worked closely with government authorities, industry associations, non-governmental organizations, scientific institutes and medical societies, influencing and advocating for the evolution of local and international food regulatory frameworks.
Fernando’s regulatory expertise includes food additives, novel ingredients, health claims, nutrition profiling, food for special dietary uses, medical foods, products for weight management, dietary supplements, and infant formulas.
Fernando is a chemical engineer, holds a MSc in Biotechnology, a MBA from Rutgers University, and a RAPS certification in Medical Devices and Drugs regulations.
