Erika Garner
Erika is the Michigan State University Nutrition and Physical Activity State Training Lead and Supervising Educator for District 12 (Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Livingston Counties) for MSU Extension's Health and Nutrition Institute. She began her career with MSU Extension in 2015 as a Community Nutrition Instructor focused on offering nutrition education classes to audiences with limited resources in Jackson County. She transitioned to the Training Coordinator role in 2016, focusing on offering onboarding and curriculum trainings, professional development opportunities and creating resources and materials to support the community nutrition instructors statewide as they offer programming in their counties. In 2024, she moved on to become the State Training Lead for the Nutrition and Physical Activity work team where she oversees the training plan for all Community Nutrition Instructors (CNIs) as well as directly supervise the CNIs in District 12. She earned her Masters in Public Health at Michigan State University in 2020.
