St. Joseph County 4-H member Peter Rambadt, of Sturgis, was elected to the Michigan 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees in February.
Michigan 4-H Foundation trustees are volunteers who serve as community advocates for 4-H and lead and manage the operation of the Michigan 4-H Foundation. Three positions on the board are reserved for trustees between the ages of 16 and 22. These youth trustees, all 4-H members, provide a youth voice to the board and help it to keep to the 4-H mission.
Rambadt has been a member of St. Joseph County’s Rolling Clovers 4-H Club for 10 years and club president since 2022. In addition, he developed his leadership skills by serving as a Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports ambassador, Michigan 4-H Youth Leadership Council youth advisor, and St. Joseph County 4-H Youth Council member. He was awarded the St. Joseph County 4-H Junior Swine Award and Michigan State 4-H Senior Unsighted Target Archer.
Outside of his 4-H involvement, Rambadt has served his community by being a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Centreville Future Farmers of America chapter, FIRST Robotics, and a volunteer for the Holy Angels Helping Hands Food Pantry. After graduating from Seton Home Study School, Rambadt plans to apply to the Diocesan Missionary Team in Charleston, South Carolina, a 10-month program that leads retreats and activities at schools and churches across the state. His 4-H experience has led him to plan to apply to the Airforce Academy after the completion of his work in South Carolina.
