Over the past two weeks, the Michigan State University Extension fruit team offered the 2021 Statewide Spring Tree Fruit Webinar Series. This program included a collection of 10 tree fruit webinars to help you prepare for the 2021 growing season.

Recordings of the 2021 Statewide Spring Tree Fruit Webinar Series are now available on the MSU Extension Fruit Team Channel on the MSU Kaltura Mediaspace website. Kaltura is a media/video-hosting platform similar to YouTube, used by MSU. You can subscribe to the MSU Extension Fruit Team Channel to receive updates about new media. Direct links are also available below in the schedule of presentations.

The series began with a presentation of Weather Impact on Tree Fruit & the New Enviroweather Website. The fruit team shared a video of their work evaluating cherry and apple bud hardiness in different regions of the state, which can be online. In addition, Jeff Andresen, professor in the Geography Department at MSU and Michigan state climatologist, provided information on weather impact and Keith Mason, Enviroweather program coordinator, provided an update of the new Enviroweather website. Andresen continues to give weekly, in-season agricultural weather reports for Michigan, which are recorded for public viewing.

Additional presentations included information on sprayer maintenance, pollinator stewardship, apple thinning and updates on cherry and apple pests. The recordings for each are listed in the presentation schedule below.
