Robert Stevens
Robert D. Stevens (1927-2014), professor emeritus, passed away July 10, 2014, near his family home in North Andover, Massachusetts. Bob Stevens taught and conducted research at MSU on agricultural development and health economics from 1964 to 1990, including overseas assignments in Lebanon, South Vietnam and East Pakistan. He wrote several books, including Agricultural Development Principles: Economic Theory and Empirical Evidence (Johns Hopkins, 1988, with Cathy Jabara) and Tradition and Dynamics in Small-farm Agriculture: Economic Studies in Asia, Africa, and Latin America (Iowa State University, 1977). Over his 27-year career at MSU, he supervised the graduate theses of 32 students from around the globe.
