New Command 3 ME Supplemental Label approved by EPA
Command has a 30-day preharvest interval for cucumbers and may be used on cilantro and dill.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved a Supplemental Label for Command 3 ME herbicide, which reduces the preharvest interval (PHI) from 45 days to 30 days. This reduced PHI allows pickling cucumber growers more flexibility in their timing of preemergence application of Command and the harvest of treated fields. The new label also allows a maximum Command rate of 16.2 fluid ounces (0.38 pounds active ingredient per acre) for cucumber production.
For use of Command on cilantro and dill, growers may apply 10.7 fluid ounces (0.25 pounds active ingredient per acre) after seeding. The preharvest interval is 50 days.
Command 3 ME controls most annual grasses and provides some control of many broadleaves. It is active against common lambsquarters, common ragweed, smartweeds, Venice mallow and velvetleaf.
The Supplemental Label expires Dec. 10, 2021. The label may be printed from CDMS.
