MSU Dairy Food Complex receives 2019 CANR Oustanding Team Award
The MSU Dairy Foods Complex Team received the 2019 Outstanding Team Award from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR). They support the Dairy Store and Dairy Plant under the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.

The Dairy Foods Complex Team is comprised of:

- Brekelle Wiedenmannott, Operations Coordinator/Dairy Store Manager
- Rodney Clark, Operations Coordinator, Ice Cream Production Supervisor
- Josh Clark, Dairy Production Technician/Milk Hauler
- Gary Smith, Academic Specialist/Dairy Plant Food Safety Officer
The Dairy Foods Complex Team continues Michigan State University’s long tradition of dairy manufacturing, supervising the making of high-quality cheeses and ice cream. Their upbeat, respectful attitude creates a positive and supportive environment for faculty, visitors, industry and other partners at both the Dairy Store and the Dairy Plant.
Teamwork is core to the workings of the Dairy Foods Complex Team, which is part of the the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. They work together to make important decisions in selecting the best ingredients possible, ensuring good manufacturing processes and proper reporting if something goes wrong.
The MSU Dairy Plant and Dairy Store’s dual role as a commercial product center and teaching environment prepares students for success in the dairy foods industry. It provides training for undergraduate and graduate students in a real processing setting with the latest technology, equipment and facilities. These facilities are also an important resource for training Michigan’s food and dairy industry and regulatory personnel.
