Miller Receives 2025 CANR Outstanding Up and Coming Alumni Award
Adam Miller (’11, Department of Community Sustainability) will receive the 2025 CANR Outstanding Up and Coming Alumni Award during the annual ANR Awards on Friday, March 7.
Adam Miller, of Las Vegas, Nevada, will receive the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) Outstanding Up and Coming Alumni Award at the March 7, 2025, ANR Awards Program.
The CANR Outstanding Up and Coming Alumni Award recognizes individuals who have achieved significant professional success within 15 years of graduation and demonstrate high integrity and character, enhancing the prestige of CANR.
Miller is a distinguished leader in the tourism and hospitality industry, currently serving as Vice President and Assistant General Manager at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. In this high-profile role, Miller oversees operations for nearly 4,000 rooms and manages hundreds of employees, ensuring the resort provides world-class service to a prestigious clientele that includes celebrities, business leaders and dignitaries. His leadership also extends to luxury sales and overseeing renovations for the resort, including The Villas at Caesars Palace.
Before his rapid rise in the competitive world of hospitality management, Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in park, recreation and tourism resources from the Department of Community Sustainability in 2011. Upon graduation, Miller joined MGM Resorts International as a Management Associate, an entry-level position that soon led to several leadership roles within the company.
As director of global human resources and director of corporate entertainment strategy and operations, Miller developed strategies that greatly enhanced guest experiences and operational efficiency. His contributions played a key role in the success of MGM’s venues, including the T-Mobile Arena and Dolby Live Theater, where his leadership helped open these iconic venues and expanded the company’s entertainment offerings.
Miller’s success at MGM was the catalyst for his move to Caesars Entertainment, where he continued to excel in leadership roles, including supporting the opening of Caesars Palace Dubai and holding positions at The Cromwell and Rio Las Vegas.
Throughout his career, Miller has earned numerous industry accolades. In 2024, he was named Hotelier of the Year by the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association (NHLA). He was also named Mentor of the Year by the Harrah College of Hospitality at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), underscoring his commitment to guiding the next generation of hospitality leaders. In 2023, Miller was invited to serve as the keynote speaker at the 9th Annual Tourism, Hospitality, and Events Conference.
Miller’s commitment to mentorship and education has been a cornerstone of his career. He has remained actively engaged with CANR, working to enhance student mentorship and experiential learning opportunities. Miller regularly speaks at global conferences and serves as a guest lecturer at both Michigan State and UNLV. His efforts to connect students with real-world experiences in the hospitality industry reflect his dedication to fostering the next generation of professionals. In addition, Miller’s service extends to organizations that support diversity and inclusion in hospitality. He actively supports the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, where he works to create pathways for underrepresented groups to enter the industry.
Miller is also involved in community service through his board memberships with several prominent organizations, including the NHLA, Caesars Entertainment Foundation, and the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas.
