Frasier Receives 2025 CANR Honorary Alumni Award

Jacqueline (Jackie) Frasier will receive a 2025 CANR Honorary Alumni Award during the annual ANR Awards on Friday, March 7.

Jacqueline (Jackie) Frasier, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will receive a Michigan State University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) Honorary Alumni Award at the March 7 ANR Awards Program.

The CANR Honorary Alumni Award is given to someone who has made a distinctive contribution to the CANR on a state, national or international level, has relieved the suffering of disadvantaged people, or contributed to any unique program that benefits humankind.

Frasier has demonstrated her dedication and commitment to MSU through her philanthropic efforts, particularly in support of the School of Packaging (SoP). Although she did not attend MSU, she adopted it as her alma mater after marrying Charles (Chuck) Frasier, a 1970 graduate of the SoP. Their shared service to MSU and long-standing philanthropic efforts have significantly impacted MSU, creating opportunities for students and enhancing the reputation of the SoP.

For more than three decades, Jackie has been a devoted supporter of MSU, enthusiastically embracing the green and white spirit. In 2016, the Frasier’s began to explore ways they could give back to MSU. They had long been involved in community initiatives, including the Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army and local food banks, reflecting their belief in investing in underserved communities. After re-connecting with MSU and taking a tour of the SoP building, Frasier left East Lansing with a profound realization—the facility was in desperate need of modernization.

Driven by this sense of service, the Frasier’s made a lead gift to launch a $10 million fundraising campaign to renovate the SoP building. Their gifts named the Charles L. and Jacqueline C. Frasier Sustainability Lab and the Charles L. and Jacqueline C. Frasier Atrium in the School of Packaging building. Additionally, they committed to endowing a professorship through an estate gift. Their generosity was instrumental in inspiring others to contribute to the campaign. In April 2023, the SoP celebrated the opening of the newly renovated SoP building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

With phase II planning now underway for an expansion of the SoP building that will double the size of the facility and significantly increase research capacity, the Fraiser’s have again raised his hand to support this critical investment. Furthering their legacy as the largest living individual donors in the history of CANR, the Frasier’s provided a lead campaign gift that has allowed the project to move forward and will inspire additional contributions.

In addition to her extraordinary philanthropic support, Frasier’s enthusiasm for MSU is evident through her continued involvement with the CANR community. She regularly engages with students, faculty and staff at CANR events, like the Fall Tailgate, Homecoming, groundbreakings and award ceremonies. Her service and engagement serve as an inspiration to the entire college community who benefits from the resources and spaces her generous support has made possible.
