CM Faculty Re-Appointed to State Historic Preservation Review Board

Dan Bollman, instructor of construction management at SPDC, has been re-appointed by Governor Whitmer to the State Historic Preservation Review Board.

Daniel Bollman, instructor of construction management at Michigan State University’s School of Planning, Design, and Construction, has been re-appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the State Historic Preservation Review Board.

In addition to his teaching efforts, Bollman established a private practice, East Arbor Architecture, in 2007. He received a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Michigan, graduating with honors, then earned a Master of Architecture and a Master of Business Administration degree also from the University of Michigan. Bollman is a registered architect in the State of Michigan and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). His reappointment to the State Historic Preservation Review Board involves representing historical architecture for a term commencing January 31, 2024, and expiring December 31, 2027.

Members of the Review Board are appointed by the Governor and is composed of professionals in the fields of architecture, American history, architectural history, cultural geography, prehistoric and historic archaeology, historic preservation, and related disciplines.

The Board reviews and approves each National Register nomination prior to submission to the Keeper of the National Register; has appellate jurisdiction under the Local Historic Districts Act, as amended, and provides general advice, guidance, and professional recommendations to the State Historic Preservation Officer on matters related to historic preservation.
