Cancelling a Registrant in EMS

How to cancel a registration in Events Management System.

You may need to cancel a registrant in your event if they accidentally registered multiple times or can no longer attend the event.  

  • Click on “Registrant Roster” on the Event Dashboard to view your active and cancelled event registrations.  
  • Locate the registrant you need to cancel. If there are multiple registrations for the same person, cancel the registration that has incomplete forms or is the oldest. 
  • Click the Cancel button in the Actions column on the left side of the registrant list.

  • Check the box to “Cancel Registrant” and add an explanation for audit purposes.  
  • If you have a cancellation fee, it will automatically appear. If you have a cancellation fee but do not want to apply it, zero out the amount listed in the cancellation fee box.

  • Click “Update”. 
  • If you need to refund the cancelled participant, a negative amount will appear next to the cancelled registration. You must request a refund after cancelling the registration for the refund to be processed.  

Tip: You can transfer a registrant from one event to a different event as long as the questions in the registration forms are exactly the same. Email ANR Event Services at events@anr.msu.edu if you want to transfer a registrant.
