2025 Michigan Manure Summit
The Michigan Manure Summit is an annual educational event that provides updates on the science and best practices of manure management.
The Michigan Manure Summit is an annual educational event affiliated with the Michigan Manure Hauler Certification Program. Anyone who hauls manure is encouraged to attend.
Topics that will be addressed include biosecurity, spill response scenario training, climate resiliency, managing compaction, BMPs for solid and liquid manure application, and other relevant topics to manure application. The Michigan Manure Summit is a collaborative effort by Michigan State University Extension, Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies, and the Michigan Manure Hauler Certification Program advisory committee.
The Summit starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. and will be held at the Okemos Event Center on Wednesday, January 22. The registration fee for farmers and commercial manure applicators is $50 per person, however, discount rates for two or more individuals from the same farm or firm are available. Summit registration information can be found here. Members in good standing with the Michigan Pork Producers Association will have their Summit registration fee reimbursed.
Summit participants who are certified at any level through the Michigan Manure Hauler Certification Program will receive continuing education credits for attending the Summit.
