Concept Statement
SIJI Restaurant will be a modern Chinese restaurant located in the City of Shanghai. Inspired by four different seasons and the City itself, the design style of SIJI Restaurant will be a combination of both modern and traditional Chinese style by using ancient Chinese patterns, woods and clean lines. Customers will have a unique dining experience provided by the space and the food. A natural color scheme with colors of woods will reflect the essence of Chinese style. Different types of built-in lighting systems will add both visual interests and focal points to the space. More than one seating combination at the private area will make the restaurant more functional and flexible. The easy circulation will make sure the space is accessible for everyone, including wheelchair users.
Project Profile
SIJI Restaurant will be located in the Four Seasons Hotel in Shanghai, China, one of the biggest cities in East China located in the Yangtze River Delta. It experiences four distinct seasons with hot and humid summers, and damp winters, which rarely snow. Not like other cities in China, Shanghai is a global financial center with a large amount of foreign people living and traveling every day. It is a lively, young, modern, yet traditional city.
