Certificate Training for Organizations: Online Synchronous
This training is all about your people and your projects -- making it the most effective version of the NCI Complete Charrette System™ Certificate training. The NCI will customize our training to fit the needs of your community or organization. Your team will learn the practical NCI Charrette System™ skills, tools and techniques through interactive, hands-on exercises.
Using your handpicked case studies, your team will create project guiding principles, objectives and performance measures, stakeholder analysis, charrette purpose and products, project roadmap, charrette schedules and budgets for the case studies. This course represents a collaborative project management system centered on the co-design process using charrettes and includes:
- Project assessment tools for gauging the length and cost of a charrette using a project budget, political considerations and design difficulty,
- Nuts-and-bolts tools needed for managing a multiple-day charrette,
- Introduction to diversity, equity and inclusion and ways to make charrette processes more inclusive, and
- Approaches for dealing with conflict.
This training combines the previous Core and Advanced courses into one with the addition of some new content. Upon completion of the course, participants will know how to plan for, host, conduct and facilitate a multi-day charrette.
Course Format
This online, synchronous training combines ~10 hours of self-paced learning with 12 hours of live learning in virtual labs spread over two weeks and is highly interactive by blending instruction with case study exercises, and practice of techniques and tools.
The online, synchronous training is limited to 20 participants. It is equivalent to the 3-day NCI in-person training.
The course includes lecture videos, videos from the live workshops and actual charrettes, exercises, case studies and suggested readings.
