Job Description:
We are looking for crew members who are passionate about flower farming! This position is
full-time, 40+ hours per week during busy season, with an option to work into the fall. Duties
include everything needed to bring flowers from seed to sale, including sowing, planting,
tilling, weeding, harvesting, and watering. We adhere to organic farming practices including
the use of biological controls and IPM.
About Our Farm:
We are a 10 acre farm with approximately 2.5 acres in production, located just 4 miles from
the shores of Lake Michigan. While we strive for year round production, we are consistently
able to provide flowers 11 months out of the year. In the summer we focus on lily production,
dahlias, dried flowers, sunflowers, and lisianthus, as well as grow a wide variety of perennials.
We have five hoop houses and two caterpillar tunnels that we grow our specialty stems in,
as well as over an acre of field-grown flowers. Additionally, we have a solar panel array that
generates most of our power in the summer, two walk in coolers, and a large barn for storage.
Ideal Candidates Possess the Following:
-An interest in flower farming and/ or horticulture
-At least one season’s experience farm, garden center, or horticulture experience
-Strong work ethic, self motivated, with ability to work independently and quickly
-A fast learner who pays attention to details
-Ability to work in all weather conditions (we see it all in N. Michigan... rain, snow, heat, high
winds)
-Ability to lift 50lbs throughout the day, as well as perform other physical duties such as
kneeling, bending, etc.
-Reliable transportation a must
Compensation:
$18-$20 introductory wage based on skills, experience, and references.
