ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Saginaw 4-H Archery Program will teach youth the safe and responsible use of archery equipment, promote the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship, ethical behavior, and conservation.
The program will run each Thursday, from April 13 – May 6 and take place at the Saginaw Field and Stream Club located at 1296 N Gleaner Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609.
Youth will learn basic archery skills from a 4-H certified archery instructor including and equipment, range safety, shooting techniques, eye dominance, target scoring, and marksmanship. Youth will also develop self-confidence, discipline, and patience. The 4-H Archery Program is taught be MI 4-H Shooting Sports Certified Instructors.
Perfect for beginners or youth with advanced archery skills who want to practice! Advanced class participants must be able to shoot from 15-yard line with accuracy. 4-H Membership is REQUIRED to participate.
BEGINNER CLASS:
- No outside equipment is allowed. All equipment will be provided.
- Youth may bring their own arm guard. (Optional)
- No experience necessary.
ADVANCED CLASS:
- Equipment will be available for youth if needed.
- Outside equipment IS allowed in the ADVANCED class ONLY. No arrows will be provided for personally owned bows. Participants should bring arrows.
- Participants MUST have prior archery experience.
- Participants MUST be able to shoot from the 15-yard line with accuracy.
- Participants are responsible for inspecting any equipment brought into the program.
DATES:
April 13- May 4 (Thursdays)
TIME:
Youth may choose from one of the following session times:
--Session 1: 5:00-5:45pm - Beginner
--Session 2: 6:00-6:45pm - Advanced
WHERE:
Saginaw Field and Stream Club located at 1296 N Gleaner Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609.
WHO:
Open to NEW and CURRENT 4-H members ages 9-19.
PARKING:
The Archery Building is the first building on the left after you enter through the gate. There is parking available near the building.
COST:
$10 per youth – includes all six sessions. NO REFUNDS.
PAYMENT:
Full payment for your registration ($10) is required before youth attend the program.
Before completing the registration form, please have your payment information handy.
Payments can be made by any of the following options.
- Credit Card—you pay the full registration fee using your credit card in the registration system.
- Check—if you do not have a credit card and need to make payment by check please mail your check to Saginaw 4-H office at 723 Emerson St., Saginaw, MI 48607. If paying by check, please make check payable to Michigan State University.
REMIDERS:
- 4-H membership is required to participate
- Wear closed toed shoes
- Hair must be pulled back
- No jewelry or must be tucked in
- Arm guards must be worn (will be provided)
- Bows and arrows will be provided for beginner classes. Outside equipment will not be allowed on the archery range for beginner classes.
- Outside equipment is allowed for ADVANCED class only.
- Advanced Class -Participants MUST have prior archery experience.
- Advanced Class - Participants MUST be able to shoot from the 15-yard line with accuracy.
- Advanced Class - Participants are responsible for inspecting their own equipment brought into the program.

REGISTRATION – youth will register for archery in 4-H Online by following the steps below.
CURRENT 4-H Members:
- Log into your account at https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-in.
- SCROLL DOWN to the “4-H Archery” at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on blue registration tab to start registration.
NEW Saginaw 4-H Members:
- Create a family profile at https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-in
- Select the “Saginaw New Members Club”.
- Once your 4-H membership is approved (you will receive email notification), log back into your family account at https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-in
- SCROLL DOWN to the “4-H Archery” at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on blue registration tab to start registration.
