Join us for this self-care series which will cover different topics to help you take care of your social and emotional health. This series will focus on some self care strategies.
Brief Practices in Mindfulness on 12/03/2024: The goal of this workshop is to give participants a workshop with a variety of mindfulness practices to use every day. To establish an understanding of mindfulness. Experience several mindful practices – including mindful breathing, grounding, ways to quiet your mind, brief body scan, mindful walking and forest guided meditation and a seated meditation. We will finish the workshop helping you develop a plan for your own personal practice.
RELAX: Alternatives to Anger for Parents and Caregivers on 12/10/2024: RELAX: Alternatives to Anger for Parents and Caregivers is a workshop to help adults support young children’s development of self-control and dealing with strong emotions. During this workshop participants will discuss child development and some behaviors that may be triggers of adult anger. Through exploring children’s literature and activities that can assist with building self-control. Participants will also discuss children’s anger triggers and ways to help them calm down and learn about the RELAX: Alternatives to Anger concepts that can help all of us as we work with young children.
The Importance of Adult Sibling Relationships and Your Care-giving Journey on 12/17/2024: Learn about how sibling relationships change as people grow older. Sibling relationships change as the years go by, usually very close in early years, less so in teens/early adult years, then growing closer as the years go by. One of the things that tends to bring siblings back together in later life is the need to care for aging parents.
