The Office of Culture Access and Belonging invites the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources community to attend the OCAB sponsored event.

The November OCAB event features Mikayla Thompson, descendant of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma

Cultivating Tradition with the 4 Sisters Garden  

In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, Mikayla Thompson, descendant of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma will share her journey with MSU’s W.J. Beal Botanical Garden and Nokomis Cultural Heritage Center on establishing a 4 Sisters Garden. Thompson is a graduate of Michigan State University in 2023 from the College of Arts and Letters and continues to educate folks on Indigenous farming practices. Thompson will share about her experience of the 4 Sisters Garden and will provide a tour of the garden’s location after the talk weather permitting.
