The Office of Culture Access and Belonging invites the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources community to attend the ODEI First Tuesday Event.

The September ODEI First Tuesday event features Andrea Villanueva, AmeriCorps State Member for Mentor Michigan College

These monthly discussions are open to all. First Tuesday events are an opportunity to hear from diverse scholars and professionals from the agriculture and natural resources industry, government and higher education disciplines speak about their own career and life paths, as well as their research, work or opportunities in their fields.

Background on Andrea Villanueva

Andrea Villanueva serves as the AmeriCorps Healthy Living Educator for Michigan State University (MSU) Extension's 4-H HealthCorps program. In this role, Andrea supports AmeriCorps members, host sites, and supervisors statewide, helping to advance youth development initiatives focused on mental and emotional wellness.

Andrea’s journey with AmeriCorps began after earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology from MSU. She started as an AmeriCorps member at Clinton County MSU Extension, contributing to the 4-Mentor Michigan Initiative program. With over a decade of experience in AmeriCorps program management, Andrea has held director roles with the Ingham County Health Department and CEDAM. Additionally, her background includes supporting foster and adoptive youth with DHHS and managing the Kevin Moody Youth Shelter in Lansing.
