Woodshed Mapping: Identifying Locations, Assessing Feedstock Availability, Evaluating Economic and Environmental Impacts, and Attracting Investment in the Forest Products Industry

The woodsheds maps demonstrate where market ‘hotspots’ occur, highlighting areas best suited to invest in from industry, forestry professional, and policy perspective, and which wood products industries are most likely to succeed. This talk will discuss the development of woodshed mapping methods and their application on location identification, feedstock assessment, and economic impacts evaluation of increased mass timber, biopower, and biochar in the Great Lake States.
